Bio:
John Morgan is a significant figure in Maine soccer, known for his diverse involvement across various levels of the sport, including youth development, premier club leadership, and state-level association work. His dedication stems from a lifelong passion for soccer, which he played in recreational programs, town clubs, middle school, high school, and briefly in a Division III college program. John is a former high school and collegiate player in Maine, a former varsity high school soccer coach, and a former Board member with multiple youth soccer organizations. He’s also a co-founder of the Roosevelt Soccer Club, the Maine Soccer Association, the Dirigo Union supporters’ group, and the Maine Soccer Hall of Fame.


Wayne Harvey, President of River City Soccer

Bio:
Wayne Harvey of Bangor, Maine, spent nearly three decades as part of the Bangor media market in radio and television highlight being part of the longest tenured anchor team as part of the TV5 Morning News for 11 years at WABI. Since 2022 Wayne has worked at Northern Light Health and is one of the medical oncology practice managers at the Lafayette Family Cancer Institute in Brewer. In 2014 Wayne was one of the four founding members of River City Athletics, and has served as a coach at River City since its inception and has served as the President of the Board of Directors since 2016. From 2015 to 2023 Wayne served as the North District Director on the Board of Directors for Soccer Maine acting as a liaison between local clubs and the state organization. In 2009 Wayne and his family created a nonprofit organization, Wayne’s Wiffle for A Wish, which has grown in to the largest Wiffle ball tournament in the Maine with all proceeds benefitting Make A Wish Maine. Wayne is a USSF “D” licensed coach andis a licensed National Federation of High Schools soccer official.
Stephanie Harvie, Secretary of the Roosevelt Soccer Club

Bio:
Stephanie Harvie is a well-known figure in the Maine soccer community, with experience as a player, coach, club director, and hall of fame board member.
She played women’s soccer while a student at the University of Maine, where she earned a Bachelor of Education in Kinesiology and Physical Education. She has a long history of involvement with Maine soccer clubs, including roles as a coach and director. As a director at the Rosevelt Soccer Club (RSC), she championed a program that empowered older RSC players to mentor younger ones. She is noted for being a dedicated coach and a positive role model for young female athletes. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Maine Soccer Hall of Fame and has also acted as a representative for the Maine Soccer Association (MSA).


Jason Pelletier, EMBSO Interpreter

Bio:
Jason Pelletier is a nationally certified soccer referee who has served in prominent leadership roles within Maine’s soccer officiating community. He is recognized for his high level of expertise and dedication to the sport. In 2006, he became the first referee in Maine to earn his National Referee Certification from the United States Soccer Federation. This distinguished honor qualified him to officiate Major League Soccer (MLS) and international matches. Has held the position of State Referee Administrator for the Maine Soccer Referee Association. In this capacity, he has been responsible for overseeing and developing the state’s soccer referee program, including working with Soccer Maine. Throughout his career, Jason has officiated in high-pressure situations, including tournament finals. His career demonstrates a deep and abiding commitment to the world of sports officiating in Maine. From his early rise as a nationally certified referee to his key leadership positions within the state’s soccer officiating structure, his work has consistently emphasized integrity, professionalism, and dedication.
Allen Drew, President of Eastern Maine Board of Soccer Officials (EMBSO)

Bio:
Allen Drew is a dedicated and highly experienced soccer official in Maine, known for his decades of service to the sport and the officiating community. He has been a soccer referee in New England since September 1982, accumulating over 43 years of experience. He has officiated at various levels, including high school, college, semi-pro, and professional games. Allen has held several key positions within the soccer officiating community in Maine, including President of the Eastern Maine Board of Soccer Officials, Secretary/Treasurer of the Maine Soccer Referee Association, Committee Lead for the Maine Soccer Referee Association, and Soccer referee, assessor, and instructor for the United States Soccer Federation. In recognition of his long service, Drew received a 25 Year Service Award from the Maine Association of Soccer Officials and/or the National Federation of Soccer Officials in 2007. Allen’s dedication to soccer officiating, alongside his extensive experience in law enforcement, military service, and community involvement, highlights a lifetime of commitment to service and leadership in Maine.

Jon Woodcock, Western Maine Board of Officials (WMBSO)

Bio:
Jon Woodcock is a respected figure within the Maine soccer officiating community, known for his commitment to developing and mentoring referees. He is an active member within the Maine Soccer Referee Association and is involved in mentoring referees during games, offering constructive feedback to help them improve their skills. He is also an instructor in the training and development of new referees. Jon also officiates high school soccer and is on the Western Maine Board of Approved Soccer Officials. Most recently, he has become certified as an NCAA collegiate referee. Jon’s numerous commitments highlight a dedication to ensuring the quality and development of soccer officiating in Maine.


Rick Doyon

Ricky Doyon is a well-regarded soccer coach in Maine, primarily recognized for his remarkable success with the North Yarmouth Academy girls’ varsity soccer program and his involvement in youth soccer development. He has served as the head coach of the NYA Girls’ Varsity Soccer Team, achieving significant success with the program. He has led his NYA teams to five state championships in seven years, including back-to-back Class D state championships in 2018 and 2019, followed by a third consecutive Class D title in 2021. His teams have never lost in a state championship game. He was named the NFHS Section Coach of the Year for Girls’ Soccer for the 2019-2020 season, recognizing his outstanding coaching achievements. United Soccer Coaches also recognized him as a Regional Coach of the Year in 2019 and 2024, and as the Maine Coach of the Year in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2024. His teams have also been recognized for their sportsmanship, winning the United Soccer Coaches Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Gold Award. He has a strong background in youth soccer, including coaching in premier club soccer for many years and serving as a coach in the Biddeford Youth Leagues. In Maine Soccer he has served on the Board as Vice President and Director at Large.

Todd Whitcomb, Assistant Coach Falmouth High School

Bio:
Todd Whitcomb is a highly experienced and respected soccer coach in Maine, known for his long tenure as the Falmouth High School Boys’ Varsity Assistant Coach and his extensive involvement in youth soccer development. He has served as the Falmouth High School Boys’ Varsity Assistant Coach since 1999. He was recognized as the United Soccer Coaches New England Assistant Coach of the Year in 2019. He also received the NSCAA/Adidas Region 1 Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2006. He has a long history of involvement in youth soccer, including coaching for the Falmouth Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) where he also served as President. He held coaching roles with Maine Coast United (2000-2011) and Global Premier Soccer (2011-2019). He has contributed to Soccer Maine as the Director for TOPSoccer and Soccer Across America programs. Todd Whitcomb’s long-standing dedication to both high school and youth soccer in Maine, coupled with his commitment to education, has made him a valued member of the state’s soccer community.
David Hamel, Boys Soccer Coach Orono, Vice President of the Maine Soccer Coaches

Bio:
Dave Hamel is a 1994 graduate of Bangor High School and 1998 graduate of UMPI where he played both soccer and baseball. He was inducted into the UMPI Hall of Fame in 2009 and still sits 2nd all time in assists and 4th in goals. He has coached varsity soccer for 14 years and currently is the boys coach at Orono High School. He has also been the Vice President of the Maine Soccer Coaches since 2015. He is a certified USSF and NFHS referee and holds his USSF Class C coaching license.


Troy Kendrick, Former Coach of Richmond High School Girls Soccer

Bio:
Troy Kendrick, who retired from coaching in June 2024, was the winningest girls soccer coach in Maine high school history. He coached the Richmond girls soccer team for 34 seasons, winning 414 games, 11 state titles, and 17 regional championships. Kendrick has been consistently recognized for his coaching excellence. In 1993 he was the Maine Soccer Coaches Western Maine Coach of the Year. In 2007 and 2012 he was the Maine Soccer Coaches Region 1 Small School Coach of the Year Nominee. In 2007 he was the Maine Soccer Coaches Region 1 Small School Coach of the Year. He served as a Vice President for the Maine Soccer Coaches, representing Western/Southern Maine Girls, and received the prestigious Maine Soccer Coaches Service Award in 2024. In addition to coaching, Kendrick has a passion for teaching, working as a fourth and fifth-grade teacher in the Richmond school system.

Bio:
A key figure in the Maine soccer community, Michael was a varsity soccer player at Wesleyan University graduating in 1974, the founder of the Brewer High School Girls and Boys Soccer Programs, and the President of the Maine Soccer Coaches since 1989. He founded the Maine Soccer Coaches Annual Senior Bowl in 1991. He maintains a comprehensive website that archives the History of Soccer in Maine, and is one of the founders of the Maine Soccer Hall of Fame


Ben Brewster, Bates College Men’s Soccer Coach

Bio:
Ben Brewster is the head coach for the Bates Men’s Soccer program. A native of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Brewster graduated from Bowdoin with a Bachelor of Arts in history in 2014. He was a team captain during his senior and junior seasons at Bowdoin and capped off his stellar career by being named a NSCAA First-Team All-American in 2013. A two-time team MVP, Brewster helped Bowdoin advance to the Division III Final Four in San Antonio, Texas while being named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year in 2010. He earned multiple Bowdoin College awards during his collegiate career as he received the Bowdoin Men’s Soccer George Levine Memorial Award for sportsmanship, valor and desire in 2011 and 2013, while also earning the Sid Watson Award in 2013-14, which is presented annually to a Bowdoin student-athlete who has distinguished themselves through athletic performance and leadership of multiple teams. Upon graduation, Brewster played semi-professionally with the Seacoast United Phantoms of the Premier Development League (PDL) in 2014. In 2015, he signed with the Tulsa Roughnecks of the United Soccer League, starting 19 games. Brewster played for San Francisco FC in the PDL in 2016-17 while also commencing his coaching career as the head coach at The Bay School of San Francisco in 2016. Brewster was an assistant coach, and then associate head coach at UMass Amherst from 2017-2024, and earned his master’s in Sport Management in the Isenberg School of Management at UMass. Brewster holds a National B coaching license from the United States Soccer Federation.

Dennis Crowe ,

Bio:
Dennis Crowe is a long-time Maine resident and Gorham fixture known for his extensive contributions to both technology and athletics. His career spans four decades and includes officiating, coaching, and a long tenure as an educator. Crowe is most recognized for his four-decade-long career as a referee and umpire for basketball, soccer, and softball. In 2019, he was awarded the Bob White Award by the Western Maine Board of Approved Soccer Officials. He also received the Perrino Award from the WMBASO in 1998, which honors a board member for dedication to the game of soccer. In 2022, he was identified as the Assignor of Officials for the Western Maine Board of basketball officials, a role that involves assigning officials to games. His professional life also centers on education. After starting his career as a math teacher, he moved into technology education and he served as the Director of Technology for the Gorham schools from 2008 until his retirement in June 2022.
